Johanna MacMaster traveled widely while growing up in Germany. Thanks to her attorney/hotelier father, who owned a Relais & Chateaux hotel in Bavaria, Johanna enjoyed virtually all of the finest hotels and destinations of her native Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France. She received her Abitur from Internat Schloss Salem, and following studies in law at the Universities of Würzburg and Köln, Johanna returned to the profession of a hotelier. During this training, she worked at the Hotel Bristol in Paris, along with several other notable establishments, as well as her father's hotel, learning the business "from the ground up".
As a U.S. resident for the past 18 years, Johanna has brought her Old World charm and sophistication (says her American husband) to the New World. In particular, Johanna's boundless interest in cuisines of the world has brought untold joy to those fortunate enough to sample her unparalleled cooking. Her discerning taste in fine cuisine and hotels—learned the German way, by seeing and doing--- has been a private delight for those fortunate enough to have benefitted from it. Now that her son, Ludwig, is away at university (in Munich), what could be more natural than for Johanna to join Currie & Company and make her rich knowledge available to clients.
