A native Atlantan, Anna McGarrity grew up in a family who traveled frequently for both work and pleasure. As a young person, she was captivated by travel, and all the enchanting places far away! She is always dreaming up her next trip, voraciously reading guide books, travel magazines and websites, to the point that her husband often jokes that she enjoys planning a trip more than the trip itself! As an adult, she had been planning trips for herself as well as for family and friends, and thus when Betty Jo offered her a place with the Currie and Co team in 2012, it seemed a natural fit and she jumped at the chance!
Anna graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.A. in History and then earned a Masters of Teaching degree from Emory University. Before launching a career in the travel industry, she taught Social Studies to eighth, sixth, fifth and fourth graders. She and her husband, Todd, love active travel and have taken several walking and biking trips in Europe, Canada and the United States. They both are committed to instilling the same love of travel, and the important exposure to different cultures, into their two daughters. So, Anna's new passion is finding wonderful family trips full of history and adventure. Whether it's your family's first trip to Disney World, an activity-filled Spring Break to Costa Rica, or a couple's European bike excursion, Anna would love to help make it wonderful in every way.
